HTPC – XBMC and HP Windows Media Center remote

HP remote is really good for HTPC, it works great even without line of sight, quiality is decent, and feels nice in hand. I tried some other noname remotes, but they all fell apart. This one is worth the money.

I spent some time figuring out how to adjust my remote to fit my requirements and usefulness so I decided to share my XBMC keyboard.xml and registry fix with the world. See at the bottom of the post for link to zip file.

There are three HP MCE models, but the hardware in it is ALMOST the same (there are differences in few buttons), my models are 2 and three, and configuration is made for model 2, on model 3 buttons 1 and 20 does not work properly:

When I first got HP remote I was using http://xbmccustomregis.sourceforge.net/, but I’ve adjusted it to my needs:

14 – record
15 – play
