As I have few USB TV sticks and upgraded my PC to Windows 8.1 I decided to see how they work with new OS.
I had Terratec Cinergy T Stick Black and Not Only TV Dual LV52T.
Terratec Cinergy T Stick Black drivers were not installed by Windows but after installing drivers from their site they worked like a charm. Quality of detecting channels is not so good but it works. Before testing it on 8.1 I was using this stick on Windows XP.
Not Only TV Dual LV52T was installed by Windows but I did not had luck with this stick. If I’d try to start DVBdream it would crash (BSOD), or scan channels with NextPVR it would crash after some time too. Errors: IRQL_not_less_or_equal or kernel security check failure. Since I tested this stick on Windows XP, 7 and 10 it was working like a charm so I guess it’s something related to Windows 8 or drivers conflict. So, if you have this stick and think to upgrade to Windows 8 I strongly suggest to skip it and stay on XP/7 since Windows 10 has some serious privacy issues but this ctick will work. So if you don’t care if Microsoft monitors/tracks what you do on your PC go with Windows 10.
